Construction of Outstation Facilities, Papua New Guinea
MISSIOAOTEAROA is grateful to the parishes and schools that responded to the call to do something for Mission Month & Mission Sunday 2024! A big thank you and applause!!
Some schools around the country have already a tradition of doing something special each year to help the students get into the spirit of supporting the mission. Some parishes too, put on special promotional activities; e.g. the small town of Amberley of the Hurunui Parish had parishioners selling raffles during a cup of tea after Sunday Mass, and the effort raised several hundred dollars. St Thomas of Canterbury had a group of students run a casual clothing day, or “Tradie Tuesday”, and raised several hundred dollars.
Although it is the effort that matters more, in terms of funds that were raised for 2024, the parishes of New Plymouth and Our Lady Queen of Peace (ChCh) were the most out-standing, each raising over four thousand dollars for their efforts!
If your parish or school did something special, please consider sending in a little snippet with photos for possible publication. It is good to share good news!
